Elder vampires often continue to grow in power as the years tick by, their arcane and martial might growing steadily even as the paragons of mortal races wither and die.
The Soublight Gravelords are blood-sucking rulers of the night, who command undead hordes to crash upon the living. These vampires are undead of singular power and ambition, lords of the night who serve as Nagash’s generals even as they chafe against his will. Every Soulblight dynasty has its own ambitions for the realms, and they are eager to achieve them through any means, no matter how dark. Leading armies of shambling corpses, necromantic entities and horrors from the deepest graves, the vampires expand their fiefdoms and grind mortals beneath their heels.
Deadwalker Zombies are created from the bodies of the recently dead, given strength through the power of dark necromancy and sent onto the battlefield in shambling hordes.
Wight Kings are ancient rulers, resurrected by foul necromantic magic. Some of these Deathrattle monarchs take to battle atop ancient skeletal steeds, clad in rusted barding. These mounted warrior-lords typically ride at the very forefront of the undead advance, stampeding the enemy into dust and driving their lances into the hearts of the living.
Necromancers are widely regarded as twisted and corrupt individuals who are obsessed with death and the avoidance of it at all costs. They are used (for they are rarely their own master) by Vampires to animate the broken corpses of their servants and return them to battle.
Even amongst the Soulblight vampires, Lady Annika's thirst for blood is legendary. In battle, she attacks as a sanguine blur, her enchanted rapier reaping a red harvest as her foes fatally stumble and slip in the gore that inevitably pools about her feet.
Overwhelmed by his wrath, Radukar has undergone a terrifying transformation. The bestial monster within has come to consume the vampire almost entirely, and he now fights with a raw and brutal fury, his ferocious howls ringing through the night.
The Soulblight Gravelords are powerful undead monstrosities eternally hungering for the blood that sustains them. Led by cruel and immortal vampiric nobility, they go to war with hordes of undead thralls and twisted beasts. Each dynasty fights differently, attuned to their morbid commander's predilections – the Vengorian Lords are those who have succumbed to their bestial nature, leaving them just as warped in body as they are in soul.
Grotesque monsters that prey upon the blood of the unfortunate souls they catch, Fell Bats are an amalgamation of deathly magics and the Soulblight curse brought into being by their vampire masters.
In ancient times, mighty warlords fought across the lands. Upon their death, these brutal warriors were buried deep beneath the ground, their tombs protected from thieves and looters by shamanistic spells.
Bedecked in rusting weapons and wearing the fading scraps of once-proud armour, Deathrattle Skeletons are the unflinching core of many a Soulblight vampire's army.
Sekhar, Fang of Nulahmia, is amongst the most lethally skilled of all Neferata's agents. A master hypnotist, she is capable of enthralling even the strongest-willed – just as she has done with the serpent Ouboroth, the eternally ravenous husk of a fallen death god. Sekhar goes to war surrounded by her loyal pets – packs of Dire Wolves stalk and hunt vulnerable prey, whilst Fell Bats encircle and harass the foe, cutting off all hope for escape.
Once a courageous vampire-knight who, despite holding no love for Ghur's mortal races, refused to prey upon those weaker than herself, Lauka Vai's constant struggle against the hunger within was cruelly cut short while tangling with a Tzeentchian sorcerer.
Little is known of the mysterious First of the Vyrkos. When she and her lupine packs hunt, the enemy is overcome by a storm of savage claws and slavering fangs, their champions hideously transfigured by the cruel and ancient matriarch.
Some vampires dedicate their eternal lives to the mastery of one pursuit, and those determined to become peerless warriors invariably end up among the ranks of the Blood Knights.
