The Adeptus Custodes are an army unlike any other. Each member would be considered a mighty hero by lesser warriors, capable of besting entire units or even armies of weaker foes. They fight side by side upon the battlefield with the cold-eyed witch seekers of the Sisters of Silence. Theirs is an eternal war, for the threats to the Master of Mankind are manifold and spread across the stars, but they wage it with breathtaking skill and ferocity, for to falter is to doom all of Humanity.
The Typhon is named for the ‘Great Beast’ of Terran myth, and lives up to its namesake in sheer brutal strength. Sharing a basic chassis with the Spartan Assault Tank, this heavy tank serves as a mobile gun-platform with enough power to operate a single massive piece of siege artillery – the dreadhammer cannon. The Typhon was created to meet the demands of the Primarch Perturabo of the Iron Warriors, who sought a war engine that could rapidly deploy such fortress-breaking firepower to the battle line alongside his Legionaries. Though unsubtle in design, its overwhelming effectiveness is beyond question.
The daemonic servants of Khorne spill from the madness of the warp to corrupt and slaughter, the very battlefield contorting at the touch of Chaos. Gore-drenched Bloodletters hack heads from shoulders, led into the material plane by Bloodmasters, the greatest of their ravenous kind. Mounted atop the infernal engine-beasts known as Juggernauts, a charge by merciless Bloodcrushers breaks the most stalwart resistance, while tireless Flesh Hounds pursue any who flee across time and space.
The Incarnates that haunt the Krondspine Range are terrifying entities - creations of pure Ghurish energy, protected by monstrous bones and guided by a bestial intellect. Cleansing Aqualiths are magical shrine-engines used by the Dawnbringer Crusades to bring fresh water to newly-founded settlements. Designed by Collegiate mages, forged by Ironweld engineers, and blessed by Sigmarite priests, these floating metaliths absorb ambient magic to generate an endless stream of purified water. Cleansing Aqualiths can be found throughout the Mortal Realms, in growing settlements and abandoned outposts, chained to the ground and topped with holy statues.
The Mortal Realms are inhabited by many strange and deadly creatures. The megadroths of Ghur are one such beast - titans that stride the plains and swamps, preying on other megafauna. When they die, their fossilised remains often become points of conflict - some seek to claim the primordial amber energy that still suffuses their bones, while others use the corpses as makeshift shelters.
Atalan Jackals are fourth generation Neophytes who form the outriders of their gene-sect. They roam the corners of the host planet in search of new regions for their cult to infest.
