Cadian Castellans are strategic senior officers, often formally ranked as Captains or Colonels. These authoritative leaders of the Astra Militarum's forces bear a panoply of armaments and insignia that mark their high office, wielding their array of weapons as skilfully as they command the countless soldiers beneath them.
Commissars are ruthless officers embedded throughout the Astra Militarum, charged with maintaining the morale, discipline, and loyalty of their regiment. With the power to summarily execute any soldier found wanting in their duties, they are feared, brooding figures. A Commissar's devotion to the Imperium is without doubt, and they fight with fanatical bravery – inspiring the same fervour in those who fall under their watchful gaze.
Ursula Creed is the Lord Castellan of Cadia – and though the planet itself may no longer exist, the post and her duty remain firmly intact. She is a forbidding and implacable strategist, the heir to the legendary general who fell with his world, and a living symbol of the enduring indomitability shown by Cadia’s armies. The Tempestus Scions are amongst the finest human warriors in the galaxy. They are fanatically dedicated to the act of following their orders - even if it may result in their own deaths - and often complete missions so dangerous that they would be deemed suicidal for a regular guardsman.
The Sentinel is a one-man all-terrain bipedal vehicle, used by the Astra Militarum where mobile patrols must be mounted across rough terrain, or where firepower must be deployed rapidly in response to a threat.

Born soldiers, the Shock Troops of Cadia are trained for military service from the moment they can hold a rifle. Long years of rigorous firing drills have forged them into expert sharpshooters, skilled in both dogged defence and storming assault. Cadian Shock Troops are held by many as the ideal Imperial soldiers – with countless regiments mustered in their image.
Though much of an infantry regiment is made up of rank-and-file Guardsmen, those soldiers with an affinity for bulky and more complicated weaponry are often gathered together within a dedicated heavy weapons company.
Ordnance Teams crew some of the largest human-portable weapons fielded by the Astra Militarum. From bombast field guns that lob heavy shells over buildings and intervening squads, to the barrage of warheads fired from malleus rocket launchers, or the searing energy lances unleashed by heavy lascannons, these Field Ordnance Batteries are powerful assets to any general.
