Just when you thought you had basecoating all figured out, our engineering wizards have devised the best way to do it yet. This is the sort of innovation you didn't know you needed until now. It may look like a goofy stick, but the pegs allow you to stretch elastic bands in different ways to hold miniatures securely whilst you work all the angles to get the paint where it needs to be.
The Hobby Starter Set provides you with the basic glues, paints and basing materials you'll need to start painting and modelling your Citadel miniatures collection. The Hobby Starter Set is also one of the most cost effective ways to begin or add to your paint collection.

The synthetic M Layer brush is, quite possibly, the single most useful brush you will ever own. While we've designed it to give you perfect layer coats every time, it's also serviceable for basing, washing, or anything else you could think of as far as painting your models is concerned.
Shading is one of the best ways to add instant depth and shadow to your models, and when you want to avoid getting any of your Citadel Shade paint on the work you've done already, the M Shade brush is the tool for you. Designed to hold plenty of paint while giving you some much-needed control, it's the ideal brush for getting deep details right where you need them.
Small enough to fit into all sorts of tight nooks and crannies, the S Base brush is perfect for getting Citadel Base paints onto areas surrounded by colours you want to keep just as they are. As a smaller-pointed brush, they're also excellent for edge highlighting your models, and adding finishing details like script and glass lenses.
Quickly adding definition to small nooks and crannies can be a real pain in the rear armour. Luckily, the S Dry brush is designed specifically to reach into tight spaces and pick out all the wires, ridges, and other assorted details so you might need, letting you quickly get your smallest miniatures up to a Parade Ready standard.
When painting large models with Citadel Shade paints, it's important to get an even, smooth coat for best results. That's why our L Shade brush has the broadest tip of any Citadel brush, perfect for picking up loads of paint and getting it all over the biggest Greater Daemons and Imperial tanks you can get your hands on.
Glazing your models is a great way to add extra colour definition to a completed paint job, and to avoid any messy corrections we've designed the Citadel Colour STC Glaze brush with maximum shape retention in mind. This means that your glazes only go where you want them to, and the medium-sized bristles pick up just the right amount of paint to avoid pooling in the recesses.
