Great Eagles
Borne aloft on soft and silent wings, the host of Great Eagles hunt far and wide in the valleys around the Misty Mountains.
Orcs are the foulest creatures to walk Middle-earth. They are evil-hearted monsters that rejoice in slaughter and destruction. The Orc's natural aggression makes them the perfect tool of evil intent, their numberless hordes forming the core of the Mordor army. While they're individually cowardly, they gain strength through numbers - a mass of Orc warriors can be a terrifying sight for any enemy of the Dark Lord.

Before the dread armies of Mordor can lay siege to Minas Tirith, they must first take and hold the port city of Osgiliath, allowing them to move massive amounts of supplies and legions of warriors. While the steward of Gondor’s throne remains in relative comfort, he sends his second son, Faramir, and many of Gondor's most trusted warriors to defend it against all odds. Will they hold the line, or will the inexorable forces of Evil overwhelm them?
Sauron never turned his gaze completely away from the northern kingdoms – even during the close of the Third Age, the forces of Evil closed in on Dale, Erebor, Mirkwood, and Lothlorien. Across the lands of Rhovanion, the forces of Good rallied to defend their homes, their acts of heroism tying up armies Sauron so badly needed as the War of the Ring raged to the south.
Gondor was the most prominent kingdom of Men in Middle-earth. This battle-hardened realm was bordered by Mordor to the east, and stood as a bulwark against the shadow for thousands of years. While Minas Tirith was Gondor's capital in the Third Age, Osgiliath stood as its original capital, although the city would soon fall into ruin. As the War of the Ring raged throughout Gondor itself, many townships and outposts would follow in its wake.

Since the coming of Sauron to Dol Guldur, the surrounding Greenwood had become a place of fear and darkness. Corrupted by the influence of the Necromancer, it had become known by the new name of Mirkwood.
