Wargs are gigantic, evil wolves - massive and dangerous creatures with a cunning and carnivorous intelligence. In battle wargs swarm towards the foe in great packs, tearing the enemy down with bestial fury.
Before the dread armies of Mordor can lay siege to Minas Tirith, they must first take and hold the port city of Osgiliath, allowing them to move massive amounts of supplies and legions of warriors. While the steward of Gondor’s throne remains in relative comfort, he sends his second son, Faramir, and many of Gondor's most trusted warriors to defend it against all odds. Will they hold the line, or will the inexorable forces of Evil overwhelm them?
Thorin Oakenshield is a Dwarf of noble birth, the son of kings and heir to the treasures of Erebor. If he is to lead his kinsmen safely to The Lonely Mountain and reclaim the incalculable wealth that lies there, he will need every ounce of his considerable cunning and skill to triumph.
Dale's wealth ensured that its soldiers were equipped with armour of the highest quality and armed with fine Dwarf-forged weapons, crafted by their allies in Erebor. Well-trained and disciplined, these brave Men were often seen marching together, bound for distant wars, when not guarding their homeland from the predations of their enemies.
